Fluoresce High
Memoirs of a Vampire
My name’s Keane Resiance. I’m a Vampire, or a higher being, it does not matter to me. But I prefer the term: the-most-smartest-example-of-any-kind-of -demon-in-the-universe. It’s all up to you to decide. Anyway, this is the story of how I met Daniel , that stupid scrawny wizard that changed my whole life. Or at least, part of it.
Keep in mind I am over a hundred years old. I’m wise, oh yes, but not as wise as my mum, whose age is unknown, even to my older sister, Amaranta, who is five hundreds years old. Anyway. . . .
It all started years ago. I used to live in a large castle, ruled by famous Vampires throughout the ages. . . Such entities like Dracula lived on the castle’s cellar. Or slept. Yeah, he slept alright. For twenty years he didn’t woke up. But before that, he slept for more than a thousand years. My mum had to poke him with a stick many times before waking him up. Did I mentioned my great-great grandfather is Dracula? No? Well, remind me later to tell you the story of how Dracula met Britney Spears. Rather interesting, considering how they’re both divorced, and she’s currently posing as a pop-singer human. And a slut. And a ho. Whatever, same thing. My father, mother, sister Amaranta, brother Irving, and many, many other Vampires, whose name were too weird for me to remember, lived on Resiance Manor. I was about exactly a hundred years old, and my poor excuse for a father had decided for me to get a Master, or human that controlled me until we got married, or one of us died (I always hope for the latter). Now, there’s a certain rule, well, certain rules. First, your poor excuse of a father may set you up with a human, and if he’s too stupid to differ Female from Male human, then he might set you up with the wrong gender, and then there’s trouble. In my opinion, I always thought mothers should be the ones doing the matchmaking. My sister Amaranta ended up serving a girl name Jessie. A girl! Second, once you’re set-up with a human, you’re bonded with that person for life, or until one or the other died. I had already been set up twice, but both creeps died. Dueling with other stupid hormonal magicians. None of them liked me very much, and neither did I, so I didn’t mourn too much over them. And third: The Vampire, or demon, has to live with the human, on the human’s home. Nasty, but it’s a tradition.
And my poor excuse of a father had set me up. Thankfully, it was with a guy. His name was Daniel Clarkson, a middle-class guy from Fluoresce Town, in some nearby city. He was about my age(not true, since I was a hundred years old and he was fourteen), or so my poor excuse of a father said, and a nice guy. The day I received that info, I threw a fit, tried to kill myself, only it didn’t work because I can’t die (I tried to drown myself in the pool, but I only managed to gulp gallons of dirty water, and then throw up). I got in trouble, but that wasn’t big enough for my parents to stop throwing me the Farewell Party. It was a fiasco. Throughout the night, all famous Vampires form nearby cities came, all of them showing up in their best dresses, and with their biggest fangs (some were fake, some were not, believe me, I had experience on differing each kind). And, to my surprises, a few Werewolves turned up. Of course, I kept away form them. Also, throughout the night, in my mind I began to plan my moves. Yup, I had some pretty good ideas through my head. And then, when that stupid night was over, the next day I had to say good-bye to my family and friends. I wasn’t exactly sad about it. And then came the doom. . . .

Love can sometimes be magic.
But magic can sometimes... just be an illusion.
